GAME COMPONENTS
All game components (maps, counters, cards) are now printed in the pages of the game book. Separate physical components are no longer available. There are a couple major reasons for this. First, this allows for our games to be sold on Amazon worldwide, which is an important consideration. Second, many gamers now prefer PDF format (which makes printing components very easy). For those who like a physical copy of a game, we offer special combos (book format game, plus PDF format game) for a deeply discounted price. We know there are some players who prefer buying physical component sets. but the demand for these is such that it is not economically viable to produce them. While there may be exceptions to this rule (who knows?) please assume that physical component sets for new releases are not available unless otherwise stated.
Game components must be scanned/printed and cut prior to play. The components are in the game, as pages in the book. Some games have been designed for "pencil-mode", meaning the use of physical components is not necessary (gamers keep track of things on a provided game display/log). The description of each game should indicate this.
Minden has been publishing wargames and magazines for over two decades. We are a small company, and have had to adopt a flexible attitude when it comes to publishing. This may be seen in how the physical product (and now, electronic PDF product) has been published over the years. We appreciate there may be those who wish things were different. But times change, and we must adapt as well with the times. Our goal has always been to provide wargamers with reasonably priced games that emphasize playability and historicity, have a small footprint, small playing time, and have a healthy amount of solitaire designs.
We appreciate your support, and your understanding in our publishing policies. We'll continue to do our best to provide you with the most "bang for your buck" magazines and game designs possible.
